Oral Exams and X-Rays
Oral exams and dental x-rays can be essential to catching potential issues at an early stage. During an oral exam, our team will evaluate the health of your teeth and gums, which includes a thorough inspection for any cavities, decay, or other issues that may be present. Should we detect any irregularities, we will recommend a treatment plan based on your specific needs in order to restore your teeth and gums to healthy form. We typically advise that oral exams and/or x-rays be received about once every six months to help ensure no issues are left undetected and untreated.
Dental Cleanings (Recare Visits)
Dental cleanings, also known as recare visits, are imperative to maintaining an optimal level of health for your teeth and gums. Routine recare, in conjunction with proper oral hygiene routines at home, can help diminish the likelihood of cavities, tooth decay, plaque buildup, gingivitis, and several other serious dental issues from forming over time. In order to help keep your teeth and gums both healthy and clean, we recommend coming in for a professional recare visit at least twice a year.
Periodontal (gum) disease is not only detrimental to your oral health, but it can also lead to other severe issues if allowed to progress without treatment. At our office, our experienced hygienists can perform a thorough periodontal evaluation and provide ideal treatment solutions based on your specific gum care needs.
At our practice, we offer effective teeth sealant treatments to help you and your children prevent cavities and tooth decay. This durable material helps block and protect against bacteria that sits in the small spaces within the teeth. Our team of dentists recommends dental sealants as an early preventative dental procedure to help keep teeth healthy and bright.
Wisdom teeth do not usually appear until you are in your late teens or twenties. Also called third molars, they form at the back of your upper and lower teeth and often lack the space to come through the gums properly. This can lead to teeth impaction, which may cause damage to surrounding teeth – including severe misalignment. Plus, once the wisdom teeth start coming in, they usually cause discomfort and irritation. Wisdom teeth that ultimately do not penetrate through the gums can cause an abscess or cyst to develop. Untreated cases can do serious damage to surrounding teeth, gums, and underlying bone.
At our office, Dr. Magdalena Soutcheva & Dr. Brian Cicero will evaluate your wisdom teeth and make recommendations for the best effective treatment.
